FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATOR , MIT Innovation Initiative (MITii) , to provide administrative and financial support for all aspects of MITii's financial, business, administrative, and human resources planning. Will oversee annual budgeting process; assist with long- and short-range planning; collaborate on developing, implementing, and leading policies/strategic direction; ensure compliance with Institute policies and sponsor guidelines; liaise with MIT budget and accounting offices; manage departmental cost-sharing and F&A under-recovery obligations; manage procurement activities; and perform special functions for the Hong Kong Innovation Node and Project Manus; serve as the finance liaison to central/school/department financial offices across campus; collaborate with principal investigators and MITii staff to develop research proposals and build proposal/program budgets; prepare and route pre-award proposals; create and manage spending forecasts for programs and sponsored awards; ensure timely report submissions to donors/research sponsors; certify eDACCAs quarterly by proxy for all accounts in the MITii spending groups/fund centers; submit progress/final reports for sponsored awards; manage/coordinate personnel functions, including creating job descriptions, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, salary reviews, visa applications, etc.; allocate office space; serve as primary authorizer for ROLES database; and perform other duties as needed.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred); at least five years' relevant grant/financial management experience; excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills; experience advising education and research staff on programmatic impacts of financial decisions; self-motivation; and experience with MIT's financial and accounting systems. Must be able to prioritize multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and work under pressure; forge productive relationships and align strategies in a complex environment; and work with a diverse team, balancing interest/needs of stakeholders at all levels.
