THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY Responsibilities To Provide independent advanced level nurse practitioner clinical expertise to the Orthopedic Surgery Service patients and their families on an on-going basis. This includes patients in the acute care floor and knowledge of the patient in the ICU, but no ICU direct care. Patient management decisions will be decided in rounds with the team, independently after assessment of the patients and interdependently with consultation with an attending or other member of the team. Acts as an expert resource person for the health care providers including nurses, residents, and other ancillary staff. Provide coverage to multipole Orthopedic services as needed, including but not limited to Trauma, Joint, Spine, Tumor, Geriatric Hip Fracture. Required
At least one year NP experience
Graduation with a Master's degree, DNP or PhD in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
Possession of valid California RN and Nurse Practitioner license.
DEA Certification within 3 months of hire
Acute Care or FNP National Board Certified
Current American Heart Association CPR, BLS and ACLS
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Knowledge of current trends in nursing.

Knowledge of legal implications in clinical practice and documentation.
Knowledge of performance improvement and evidence-based practice.

At least one year clinical experience in the care of Orthopedic patients
Ability to meet minimum standards for hospital credentialing and billing standards as a billable provide
Reference report reflect an overall meets or exceeds rating
Ability to work overtime, float to other areas and work weekends and holidays
Ability to safely lift 25 lbs. and assist in moving patients, and stand on feet over extended periods.
