Position Description: Responsible for safeguarding the Museum's collections, temporary exhibitions, property, employees, and visitors through highly proactive, appropriately preemptive, and immediately responsive action. Inspects and patrols all museum spaces on foot: including onsite and office program spaces: monitors and operates computerized alarm, access, and closed circuit television systems; watched for, reports, and addresses potential security and safety hazards and problems; checks entrances and exits; and performs dispatch duties. Maintains and files security logs and reports, and performs other security duties as assigned by Supervisor and Management. In addition, the incumbent helps to coordinate events and may set up tables and audiovisual equipment for public and private events. The incumbent is also responsible for serving as back up supervisor for up to 20-part time student Museum Attendants.
