This position will serve as a Clinical Research Assistant for a multidisciplinary research department. This position will coordinate research efforts in the Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center, including multiple clinical trials and other related endeavors. This position will manage all information and requests related to project responsibilities, and collaborate with clinical trial stakeholders within and external to UNC Health Care. The range of duties includes but is not limited to: clinical trial coordination, database management, data/information collection and analysis, collaboration with sponsors, lab sample preparation, processing and shipping, and preparing status reports. This position will review study budgets to ensure they are adequate to cover expenses, and this position will serve as a study coordinator for multiple clinical trials within the Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Must demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate results. Must be willing to support a flexible schedule to meet departmental and study needs; occasional travel or weekend work may be required. Must demonstrate an understanding of clinical laboratory data review. Must demonstrate willingness to learn and manage regulatory document development, submission and clinical protocol development/review.
Clinical experience with direct patient care of medical patient chart review. Experience with clinical trial management preferred. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve quality control issues independently. Clinical research coordinator certification desirable (CCRP,ACRP,etc.) Previous experience with UNC systems preferred. Proficiency in sample processing and shipping.
