Chemical Engineering is seeking an Animal Technician to provide routine care of research animals and perform lab technician duties.
Responsibilitiesfor this position include working with animals for research purposes as well as typical lab technician duties such as ordering supplies, sterilizing equipment, maintaining mammalian cell cultures, and aliquoting stock materials.
The animal work will be primarily murine research and will require prior experience of:
Following IACUC regulations
Intravenous, subcutaneous, and intraperitoneal injections
Harvesting tissue and blood samples
Growing and maintaining bacterial cultures
Quickly learning new techniques
Qualified candidates should have a bachelors degree in a science related field, 2-3 years of experience working with animals in research, and an ability to keep detailed and neat records of work performed.
This is a two year term limited position with possibility of extension based on funding, research needs and mutual agreement of all parties.
