Columbia University Medical Center in the Department of Neurology is searching for a Secretary B.
Responsible for performing typical medical office administrative duties including but not limited to answering phones, taking messages, scheduling appointments and tests, obtaining results, filing and/or scanning results.
Using GE Centricity, IDX and CROWN (EMR), the Secretary B will check-in/check-out patients that arrive at the practice, verify insurance, collect associated copays and assist physicians in the running the day-to-day front end operations of a busy practice.
Organize their work and keep track of several different tasks.
Work under limited supervision.
Two years of college or completion of secretarial school or equivalent business experience plus a minimum of one to two years related experience. Bachelor's degree desirable.
Typing 55-60 WPM.
Must successfully complete training systems requirements.
Reporting to and working with the Practice Managers the Secretary B will be detail oriented, able to work under strict deadlines to assist in the completion of tasks related to patient visits including the submission of all charges.
