JOBSUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of the PrincipalInvestigator, this position assists in various routine research activitieswithin the Neurogenetics lab in the Department of Pharmacology. The researchfocuses on pathways/circuits that alter motivational states associated withdrug dependence, alcohol addiction, and comorbid neuropsychiatric disorders.The incumbent uses elegans as a model system.
Assists in performing C. elegans cultures. (Preparing media, maintaining strains and freezing.)
Assists with experiments under the guidance of the Principal Investigator.
Performs miscellaneous lab duties such as preparing buffers and other experiments.
Supports other laboratory members in completion of selected experiments.
Maintains the lab and supplies.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
