The History of Art and Visual Culture Department [http://havc.ucsc.edu/] at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing pool of part-time Lecturers who may be appointed to teach historic or contemporary visual cultures in the following areas:
Africa and its diaspora
Asia and its diaspora
Europe and the Americas
Oceania and its diaspora
The members of the department are committed to the investigation of art and visual culture from a wide range of theoretical perspectives. We seek colleagues with a secure knowledge of visual materials and demonstrated interest in examining such materials and related issues within the contexts of culture and history.

ACADEMIC TITLE Lecturer
SALARY Commensurate with qualifications and experience and the particular courses the Lecturer is appointed to teach. Compensation for Summer Session courses may vary from courses taught during the academic year.
M.A. or MFA (or equivalent foreign degree) in art history/visual culture or relevant field of study (e.g., media studies or communication) at the time of application; or M. Arch. at the time of application
POSITION AVAILABLE Appointments are contingent on the hiring unit's instructional need and the availability of funding. Appointments are typically made during one or more quarters of the regular academic year (fall, winter, and spring quarters), but they may also be made during Summer Session.
