Rutgers, New Jersey Medical School is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for Pharmacology, Physiology and Neuroscience. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), the Postdoctoral Fellow will investigate the structure-function of connexin channels by demonstrating independent research and participate in projects that aim to purify and reconstitute connexin hemichannels and the electrophysiological characterization of connexin channels in oocytes and HEK cells.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Participates in experimental design and carries out experiments.
Operates and maintains experimental equipment.
Records and analyzes data from experiments.
Maintains a proper data notebook pursuant to the standards of the Department and the PI.
Contributes to the intellectual development of the project.
Contributes to the writing of manuscripts.
Submits proposals for postdoctoral fellowships funding.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Ph.D. and or M.D./Ph.D. with degree in Physiology or Neuroscience.
Substantial demonstrated expertise in electrophysiological techniques.
Excellent communication skills.
Individual must be able to work independently.
