Incumbent is responsible for the entry process for the awards, managing the judging process and the logistics of several annual prizes as well as the coordination of public events.
Incumbent is responsible for the entry process for the awards, managing the judging process and the logistics of several annual prizes as well as the coordination of public events; communicates the purpose of the award and entry procedures to professional journalists in person, by phone, through email correspondence and by social updates. This position works extensively with the J-School faculty and administration, board members and judges and the winners of the various Prizes. The incumbent is responsible for managing and processing financial transactions relating to events for the prizes including travel and catering. Works as part of a team on public events, ceremonies and screenings as needed.
Bachelor's degree required.
Exceptional communications skills, oral and written. Strong time management skills - demonstrated ability to handle multiple assignments, prioritize and oversee detailed arrangements to meet deadlines. Diplomacy, decorum and tact in dealing with multiple constituencies and audiences needed.
Related work experience preferred
Web maintenance, graphic design, online research and digital production experience desirable
