Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at Sam Houston State University invites applications for a tenure track position as an Assistant Professor of Food Science and Nutrition beginning Fall 2020. The Food Science and Nutrition program is an ACEND accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) program with an internship as part of the M.S. in Dietetics. Duties will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in nutrition, foods, and dietetics. Expectations include mentoring and assisting undergraduate and graduate students, service to the department and the college, and scholarly/research activities. In addition, the faculty member will maintain a research agenda with potential to collaborate with existing faculty. This faculty member will also participate in program, department, college and university activities.
