Financial Administration: processes requisitions including payment requests and reimbursements for MEI speakers and affiliates; adds new vendors to payment system as needed; reconciles P-card and corporate card payments; other duties as appropriate.
Program Administration: works with MEI team to implement programs as needed, with a focus on MEI events logistics: reserves space, ensures proper room set-up, and arranges catering for events and meetings; coordinates travel and hotel accommodations; attends and assists at events as needed; tracks and analyzes event data; contributes to events advertising efforts; drafts events-related correspondence; builds relationships with other events and program staff at the Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) and across the University; tracks availability of prospective international speakers; other duties as appropriate.
Office Administration: provides administrative support to MEI team members and office reception support as needed; maintains and replenishes office supply inventory; researches and makes recommendations for office equipment when needed; participates in rotating office responsibilities with colleagues, including work orders; and fulfills other administrative duties as appropriate.
This is a fully benefits-eligible term appointment ending one year from date of hire with possibility of renewal.

Minimum of 1 year of professional administrative office experience.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, experience using databases, early adopter of technology and ability to learn new software quickly. Strong attention to detail. Able to problem solve and excellent organizational skills. Excellent customer service skills. Strong oral and written communications and mature and sophisticated composure, professional demeanor. Ability to manage in a busy office with competing demands; not easily flustered nor easily overwhelmed by a high volume of activity and projects; and displays integrity and trust with a demonstrated ability to manage highly confidential information.
Demonstrated time management skills and ability to effectively and proactively manage multiple high-priority tasks with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across teams and with a variety of projects and constituencies; ability to forge collaborative working relationships with diverse constituencies. Demonstrated ability to responsibly handle sensitive and confidential information. Interest in the Middle East and understanding of political sensitivities. Knowledge of Arabic or other Middle Eastern language a plus.
