The Natural and Social Sciences Department at Bowling Green State University Firelands invites applications for a full-time, qualified rank, assistant teaching professor in mathematics beginning August 2020.
Responsibilities for this position include teaching 12 credit hours per semester in the areas that include introductory statistics, college algebra and algebra review. The chosen candidate is expected to participate in departmental and college service activities within the Pathway Program at Bowling Green State University. The Pathway program is a conditional admission program at the BG campus for students who have academic credentials that are below our minimum requirements. Through mandatory on-campus housing, linked classes, intrusive advising, and an emphasis on extended support networks, the Pathway program uses high-impact strategies to help these students overcome academic challenges. This is a full-time, faculty position whose salary is commensurate with peer institutions and candidate experience and credentials.

A master’s degree in mathematics or a closely related discipline is required for appointment at the qualified rank of assistant teaching professor. The ideal candidate should have a record of successful teaching at the undergraduate level as demonstrated by student and/or peer evaluations, instructional materials, and other indicators of student achievement. Those candidates who can also show a commitment to interdisciplinary approaches, online instruction, and innovative teaching practices will be preferred.
