The University of Washington, School of Social Work invites nominations and applications for an Open Rank Research Faculty (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor), non-tenure track position at 100% FTE, effective September 1, 2020. Faculty positions of this type at the University of Washington have a 12-month service period.
The School of Social Work is dedicated to the goal of building a culturally diverse, inclusive and pluralistic faculty and staff committed to research, teaching and working in a global multicultural environment.
This search is open to candidates with various research foci, including children and youth, adults, gerontology, integrated health and mental health, settings-based and community-centered research, clinical social work practice, and administration and policy. We encourage applications from both recent graduates and early career assistant professors within 3 - 5 years of receiving their doctorate.
Candidates will be expected to have and maintain an on-going, independent program of research funding. Successful candidates are expected to acquire grants to do basic, prevention, or intervention research. Teaching program will be primarily through occasional classroom lectures, and supervision of undergraduate and graduate students. Research faculty are expected to have a productive research trajectory with a commitment to exemplary scholarship, high quality publications, and preparation of fundable research proposals. Research faculty participate in shared governance of the School and serve on committees that implement the School's vision across curricular, research and community activities.

Applicants must have a PhD in social work, social welfare, psychology, sociology or an appropriate social or health science discipline and demonstrate evidence of scholarly productivity commensurate with rank.
