Post-doctoral research associate positions available immediately in Dr. Wu’s laboratory located in a rich and stimulating research environment in Robert Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center/Northwestern University Chicago Campus in the Magnificant Mile, Downtown Chicago. Dr. Wu’s research focuses on mechanisms of cancer immune evasion, development of novel NKG2D-axis mediated cancer immunotherapeutics, and mechanisms of immunotherapy induced autoimmune toxicity, and novel immunotherapy for prostate cancer (http://www.linkedin.com/pub/jennifer-wu/69/453/98b). Lab has created unique state-of the art Rosa 26 conditional knock-in mouse models for these studies. Lab also has access to clinical samples. Candidates must have a Ph. D and experience in immunological assays. Experience with animal model and cancer biology is an advantage. Candidate must be self-driven, highly motivated with career development goals, and work well in collaborative team environment. To oversee the molecular genetics lab including the maintain the supplies, equipment and ordering of necessary materials.
To conduct laboratory experiments including mutation analysis and in situ hybridization as well as others to study melanoma cancer.
To help write grants and compete for funding.
To supervise students and other techs working in the genetics lab.
To help write and contribute to publications resulting from research done in the lab.
PhD training in genetics or molecular biology competent in PCR, mutational analysis, and DNA sequencing.
Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)
Must have good computer skills, including knowledge of how to use excel.
PhD training in genetics, cancer biology, or molecular biology.
Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)
Experienced in PCR, gene mutational analysis, and DNA sequencing.
