Rutgers University Correctional Health Care is seeking a Mental Health Clinician III for the Justice Juvenile Commission Facility located in Jamesburg, New Jersey. The Mental Health Clinician III participates in the assessment of clinical needs of juveniles and young adults who are residents in the Justice Commission facilities.
Arrives at DSM 4 multi-axial diagnoses with precision and accuracy by the end of the evaluation sessions.
Makes clinically based decisions regarding appropriateness for treatment, as well as preferred treatment modality.
Provides crisis intervention services, group psychotherapy and psycho-education, as assigned.
Provides case administration services which include the development and implementation of treatment plans for assigned patients, and ongoing assessments and release/discharge planning.
Is competent in recognizing the unique needs and behaviors of adolescent (ages 12 – 17) and young adults (ages 18 – 24) and their families.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Minimum of a Master's Degree in Social Work or directly related mental health discipline.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Licensure in a mental health discipline is required.
Preference will be given to applicants who are Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW).
Must possess own vehicle or alternative means of transportation from one site to another.
Must be approved by the Juvenile Justice Commission (JJC) and adhere to all JJC requirements.
