About the Position The Director serves as a key member of the college's leadership team responsible for providing support, direction and guidance to achieve the goals of the office. Working with the Dean and other stakeholders, the Director will play a critical role in advancing diversity, inclusion and engagement throughout the college. Reporting directly to the Dean the Director will serve as a thought leader in developing a support model of diversity, inclusion and engagement at all levels. This professional will provide strategic, intentional and visionary leadership to create an integrated vision and shared responsibility for advancing university diversity goals and for fostering and supporting a campus culture that respects and appreciates individual differences. The Director will collaborate with offices across the college and university to advance diversity and inclusion in the university's research and educational missions, creating a welcoming environment for students, faculty and staff. This professional will supervise a talented team of 4 individuals.
Job Duties *Provide vision, leadership, management, assessment, and strategic planning for the design and implementation of a college-wide framework and efforts that ensure diversity, inclusion, equity, and respect for all staff *Work with corporate partners to build relationships and provide professional development opportunities students *Work with the development office to secure private funds to support office programs and initiatives *Serve as a consultant to the executive committee and department leaders to support diversity, inclusion and engagement efforts in their areas. *Ensure the most effective operations of the Office of Diversity and Community Relations through program development, process improvement and coordination/integration of processes with other departments. *Accountable for the following activities in the office: Diversity Plans, Climate Surveys, Data Collection and Dash Boards. *Supervise a talented team of professionals including: Assistant Director for Academic Support and Partnerships, Coordinator of Outreach and Pre-Collegiate Programs, Coordinator of Retention and Education, Program and Administrative Specialist. *This position is also responsible for creating and managing the office budget and resources.
