Rutgers School of Nursing invites applications for a Family Nurse Practitioner faculty position teaching didactic courses and clinical practica within and beyond the specialty. The successful candidate will become a valued faculty member of the Division of Advanced Nursing Practice. Primary responsibilities will include the education and mentoring of BS to DNP Family Nurse Practitioner students. Faculty are expected to advise students, work collaboratively with nursing colleagues and colleagues from other disciplines, maintain clinical practice competence, remain actively involved in professional organizations, maintain scholarship in their field, and actively seek opportunities for and participate in School of Nursing faculty governance. DNP project support and supervision, intellectual contributions leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals, and service are required. The position is primarily in the graduate program but the candidate may teach across programs.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Doctoral degree (DNP or PhD) required.
Current licensure or eligibility for RN and Advanced Practice Nursing licensure in New Jersey.
National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Minimum of 5 years, current clinical experience as Family Nurse Practitioner required.
Strong teaching background required.
Ability to teach courses within the Advanced Practice curriculum beyond the specialty. Courses may include data management, epidemiology, nursing research, evidence translation, and DNP Project courses.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Preference will be provided to candidates with evidence of clinical expertise across the lifespan and those who have evidence of recent scholarship (e.g., publications, national presentations, grant funding) and active participation in professional organizations.
