The University of Iowa College of Nursing announces an exciting career opportunity for a senior faculty member with a distinguished career in gerontological nursing to join our leadership in facilitating scholarship and development of the next generation of scientists in gerontological nursing. The Sally Mathis Hartwig Professorship in Gerontological Nursing provides resources and opportunities for continued research engagement, mentorship of faculty and students, and shaping the future of health care and the profession. The candidate will lead the College of Nursing's Csomay Center for Gerontological Excellence and advance collegiate and interdisciplinary aging opportunities.

Excellent interdisciplinary collaboration potential also exists through the Interdisciplinary Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Initiative, Institute for Clinical and Translation Science, National Health Law and Policy Resource Center, Public Policy Center, and Institute of Neuroscience and other health care networks. Candidates with well-established programs of research in gerontological nursing and a sustained record of extramural support are encouraged to apply. Candidates eligible for appointment as Full Professor will be considered.
As a leader in nursing research, education, and practice innovations, the UI College of Nursing has received national recognition through 15 years of funding for a P30 Geriatric Nursing Interventions Research Center; 15 years of funding for the Iowa Hartford Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence; and national recognition as a strong Gerontological Nursing Program.
