Community Outreach Coordinator provides leadership in building positive relationships between the campus, its constituency groups and stakeholders in the service area, region and state. This position is a key player in campus recruitment and outreach planning and initiatives.This position may assist Provost, Dean of Students and other members of the Provost Staff in conducting market analyses and research opportunities for campus programs and services.
Description of Duties and Tasks:
Medical Education Campus, health sciences and nursing programs Community Outreach Coordinator will expand the NOVA brand, build awareness of NOVA activities, events, health professions programs and services at the campus level, as well as develop strategies to integrate the community partnerships with current and prospective students, faculty and staff of the Medical Education Campus. Serve as first point of contact for all outreach and recruitment related inquiries and requests from K-12 and community organizations/groups. Coordinate on- and off-campus programs, activities, workshops, and events that promote awareness of NOVA to prospective students, parents/families, K-12 staff/guidance counselors and community organizations/groups/entities. Advise students on enrollment requirements, academic programs, transfer agreements and educational planning in ways that encourage higher education enrollment. Travel extensively within the local DC metropolitan area to cultivate relationships with college and community constituents; Cultivate and develop relationships, partnerships with K-12 staff/guidance counselors and community organizations/groups/entities. Serve as campus liaison to college-wide efforts and has responsibility for campus and program marketing and services.Creative, entrepreneurial, self-starter with demonstrated talent to market and promote the image of NOVA,
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelors degree with course study in English, Marketing, Business Management, Public Relations, Events Planning, or a related field , or equivalent applicable experience or training. Some occupational experience in marketing, communications, student services, public relations or customer service.
Masters degree with a emphasis of study related to student affairs, English, public relations, events planning or related field. Significant occupational experience in higher education; Experience with data management; Higher Education experience, Familiarity with local service area businesses, civic organizations, government entities; Proficiency with second language that is commonly spoken in the college’s service area.
