WellWorks is an employee wellbeing department on campus that oversees two facilities serving the community and offering experiential learning opportunities to students.
The Nutrition Program Coordinator is responsible for the oversight and implementation of the nutritional programming and services offered at WellWorks (wellness center) and HeartWorks (cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program). Work includes providing individual nutrition counseling, group education sessions, and hands-on workshops for Ohio University employees, WellWorks members and community clients. Design and implement programming to support the wellness journeys of our clients using evidence-based practices and a holistic approach to nutrition and wellness. Create, review and update nutrition education materials for WellWorks and HeartWorks. Supervise and mentor student employees, interns and volunteers. Contribute to WellWorks team efforts towards employee wellbeing through biometric screening planning and facilitation, as well as, leading efforts with wellness champions.
Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist – Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist, State of Ohio or eligibility for obtaining Ohio license.
Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics or directly related field.
At least 1 year of experience in community/public health or clinical experience
At least 1 year of experience as a practicing dietitian/nutritionist
At least 1 year of management experience, preferably with students
Must possess skills in community organization/outreach activities
Client-centered counseling style that focuses on meeting the client where they are at and empowering them to move towards their goals
Master’s Degree in Nutrtion or other relevant field
CHES (Certified Health Education Specialist)
Certified Health & Wellness Coach
At least 3 years of experience as a practicing dietitian/nutritionist
At least 1 year experience working with clients with cardiovascular and pulmonary conditions.
At least 1 year leading group behavior change programming.
At least 1 year supervision of college students.
At least 1 year experience working with a team to accomplish goals beyond individual expertise.
Involvement, as a manager or as part of a leadership team, with employee well-being programming including but not limited to biometric screenings, wellness platform management and wellness champions.
