Work in collaboration with the pre kidney transplant team, triage clerical staff and medical staff to increase effectiveness in the recipient referral and evaluation process.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Works collectively with all members of the triage office and accepts delegation from RN in the triage office.
Assist in reviewing patient referral intake questionnaire and assist with conducting appropriate pre-evaluation interviews to obtain additional medical histories
Scheduling and coordinating diagnostic and lab testing for referral patients coming in for evaluation clinic.
Request appropriate patient records for transplant evaluation committee, review obtained records for patient history information, update the Organ Transplant Information System (OTIS) accordingly.
Communicate effectively with triage team, physicians, call center and other disciplines
Works collectively with members of the Triage team to ensure the recipient referral and evaluation process is conducted in a timely fashion.
Prepare clinic prep for all Taubman and outreach clinics
Coordinate special needs classes, sign language and foreign language
May work closely with RN, Pre Kidney Transplant Manager, Outreach manager, Dialysis Centers and Social Work.
Other related duties:
Attend Transplant Expo’s and Explore Transplant events when deemed appropriate
Demonstrated competence in a medical assistant role for a minimum of 3year is necessary.
Demonstrated progressive roles in leadership in current department.
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant education program or equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
Good attendence record.
