Provide nursing care to Infectious Disease Clinic patients.
Provide telephone triage, patient teaching, direct patient care, medication refill, documentation with follow-up and coordination with ancillary services and related departments.
Monitor laboratory results for outpatients receiving IV antibiotics. Provide functional supervision to allied health staff.
Work with the Infectious Disease physicians to develop and carry out clinical standards of care for various patient diagnoses.
Maintain accurate records of Infectious Disease patient receiving outpatient IV antibiotic therapy.
Perform dressing changes/packing of complex wounds for outpatients as well as teach new medical assistants wound care technique.
Change PICC line dressings and remove PICC lines at completion of therapy.
Vaccine administration and Overseas Immunization Clinic patient evaluation.

Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, problem solve, delegate effectively and work with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to accurately document patient encounters using MI CHART documentation.
Current Michigan RN license
Two (2) years (within last 5 years) caring for adult patients in an outpatient setting.

Experience with venous access devices such as PICC lines, ports, Hickman devices
Knowledge of special needs of immune compromised patients such as experience with transplant, hematology/oncology, HIV or other specialty patients
Ability to use laboratory monitoring system
Familiarity with AACN standards for telephone triage, prefer specialty certification
Willingness to teach and mentor ancillary personnel
Salary & Nursing Framework Level: This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C. Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire. Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
