Under the general direction of the Summer Session Student Success Programs Manager, the incumbent provides high quality counseling, programming, support and customer service to a wide range of UC Irvine's various student populations, including first-generation, low-income students, students with disabilities, former foster youth, students who have dependents and students who are adult learners. This position will concentrate efforts and services on bridging summer and academic year programming for UCI's current and prospective freshman and transfer students and students, specifically assisting students on their transition from the community college and/or high school settings to UCI, and on their academic and personal success at UCI. This position interprets related University policies and procedures as they affect student populations served and provides information and referrals to students on campus life and resources. This person develops and implements academic and co-curricular programming for students, monitors student progress in various cohort groups, outreaches to students experiencing academic and/or adjustment issues, provides counseling and referrals to other campus offices to enhance student success and persistence. This person also maintains paper and electronic student files, ensures confidentiality of student records, and helps with analyses and reports that support the goals and mission of Student Success Initiatives and the Division of Undergraduate Education.
