The Facilities Planning and Management Department at Iowa State University is seeking applicants for a Equipment Operator. The Equipment Operator uses knowledge and skills to safely operate various machinery to perform snow removal, landscaping, grading and related maintenance of roads, parking lots, campus grounds, and provide utility support. This position is required to safely operate back hoes, skid loaders, end loaders, road graders, boom trucks, street sweepers, asphalt rollers, and garbage trucks. This position must respond to snow removal and other emergency work such as floods and wind damage.
The successful candidate will have the ability to problem solve and communicate effectively with a variety of individuals. In this position, it is also important to consistently follow safety guidelines and constantly be aware of potential hazards when operating large equipment.
Required to pass a pre-duty drug test and subject to random drug and alcohol testing as required by the Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
