Under general direction, the Program Assistant for Institute for Global Engagement (IGE) provides programmatic and administrative support to all programs within the Institute. Performs advanced, diversified and confidential administrative duties requiring broad and comprehensive experience, skill, and knowledge of departmental and institutional policies and practices. Coordinate events, meetings, projects, symposia, and processes specific to the programs supported. Shares supervision, training and delegation of tasks to student peer advisers. Requires the ability to exercise independent judgment and employ basic reasoning skills. Requires contact with both internal and external constituents of a non-routine nature and may require a high degree of tact, diplomacy, and judgment.
High school degree and three or more years of experience in a service-oriented, confidential, computerized environment are required or an equivalent combination of higher education and experience. An Associate’s degree is preferred. Prior experience working in an administrative assistant role is preferred, particularly in a college-setting. The individual must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The candidate must be a proficient user in standard Microsoft Office applications.
