Education requirements may be either HS diploma or GED certificate or Associates Degree or Bachelor's degree. KNOWLEDGE: Advanced knowledge of security standards, practices and procedures. Excellent knowledge of investigative methods and techniques and report writing. Knowledge of federal, state and local laws connected to safety precautions. Knowledge of practices and guidelines pertaining to law enforcement as well as community colleges and general business operations, processes, and procedures. SKILL: Strong report writing skills to document activities and incidents. Skill in the use of security equipment and safety precautions, inclusive of defensive tactics. Skill in the use of personal computers; office software programs including MS applications such as Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel; phone system; and standard use of office equipment. ABILITIES: Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with students, staff, other agencies, and the general public; manage time effectively; read and interpret policies, regulations, and laws as they relate to this job; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including the ability to provide service and support to varying individuals and groups; maintain a high degree of discretion when dealing with sensitive/confidential information. Physical ability to maintain training and certification requirements, attend work as assigned and perform the essential job functions.
