This position is with Clinical Operations in the Faculty Practice Plan. The position has an office located at the Mid Campus Center, on the Medical School Campus, with responsiblity for off-site clinical locations as well.
Position is responsible for operational management and oversight of clinical sites managed by the Faculty Practice Plan (FPP). This includes all operations necessary to deliver services such as implementation of electronic medical records systems, set up of billing and scheduling, ensuring patient satisfaction, facilitating physician relationships, supervising staff (clinical and clerical), and overseeing quality / performance improvement; will include technical training and optimization processes aimed at supporting increased quality and efficiency. This position will also be responsible for start-up of new practices and associated operational planning. This position will also participate in the ambulatory and service quality functions, strategic planning and overall development of clinical areas managed by the FPP.�
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages clinical operations for multiple sub-specialty and primary care clinics managed by the FPP.� Works to maintain and grow services by developing positive customer relationships and high levels of customer satisfaction. Provides management direction and assistance in resolving issues and complaints by team members, physicians, patients and referring physician offices.
Oversees coordination and delivery of patient services, ensuring quality care is provided in an efficient and cost effective manner. Develops and implements performance and quality improvement processes and monitors for effectiveness.��
Interfaces with clinical support services and assures processes for scheduling, registration, technical training to ensure job knowledge and processes are relevant, effective, and efficient.���
May manage multiple clinic locations. Duties include identifying staffing needs, position development, hiring, training and competency development, mentoring, and evaluation of performance as it relates to day to day practice and future needs. Assures licensing and certifications are up to date / current.��
Participates in development of operational budget and is responsible for implementation and management, overseeing and approving supply purchases and educational requests for clinicians and staff. Develops and implements methods for managing par levels to promote cost containment efforts. Ensures coordination and maintenance of related spaces, equipment, and supplies. Provides reports, analysis and maintains records as required.
Ensures patient safety at all times and educates / reinforces safety related policies, procedures, and practices. Works closely with Clinical Operations Director, Infection Prevention, Patient Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Regulatory & Compliance groups to initiate new policies/procedures, and quality control indicators through quality assurance and risk management programs. Maintains compliance with existing policies and procedures.�
Will support the functions of the Faculty Practice Plan Clinical Operations team. Will assist with projects including emergency management, infection prevention, patient satisfaction surveys, service recovery, patient dismissals, education and training, and new practice development.�

Bachelor’s degree in related field and 5 years of management experience. Combination of education and experience totaling 10 years will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Basic Life Support certification for Healthcare Providers (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred with practice management experience for adult and pediatric settings.
EMR experience, especially with EPIC.
Exceptional internal, external and customer service and people management skills.
Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.
Working knowledge of patient services with organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interview, counsel, or advise patients and their families and able to perform high level problem solving, negotiation and executive functions.
Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements, medical records requirements, front desk and insurance verification / precertification positions entail is strongly preferred.
Applicant Special Instructions:
Normal clinical environment may include standing, walking and kneeling. May need to travel various clinical locations as needed. May include evening and weekend coverage.
The hiring range for this position is $68,266 - $87,048 annually.
