The primary purpose of this position is to work independently maintaining and monitoring a variety of complex international and domestic contracts and grants accounts. Duties include all post-award issues, reconciliation of expenditures, interpreting allowable expenses, monitoring and approving account transaction, and reporting. Additional requirements include; ability to monitor account balances, provide routine monthly status reports, and when necessary, provide immediate reports to upper management if problems are identified; determine compliance with pertinent guidelines, rules, regulations, and laws; establish and maintain effective working relationships with representatives of related on-campus unties, departmental staff, and the general public; communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
-Must have substantial knowledge of accounting principles and cost account standards, and the rules and regulations governing the processing of fiscal transactions -Must be experienced in the use of computer-based financial systems -Must have experience in both domestic and international grant accounting
-Experience with PeopleSoft, InfoPorte and Ramses strongly preferred -Substantial experience with international accounting is preferred
