This is a nine-month, tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level that reports to the Chair of the Department of Social Work and is required to teach in both the BSW and MSW programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching across the social work curriculum with a specific emphasis on research methods, both online and in the traditional classroom. The expected teaching load is five semester courses per year with the possibility of summer teaching. Additionally, this candidate is expected to actively engage in research and service to the department, college, university and profession.
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in social work
Teach online and traditional classes
Advise Social Work students
Actively engage in research and publication
Pursue research funding
Provide university, professional, and community service
ABD with earned Ph.D. in Social Work by the position start date and an MSW from an accredited program.
Commitment to quality undergraduate and graduate education
Ability to teach social work research at the graduate and undergraduate level
Ability to teach in other areas of the curriculum as needed
Identified research agenda
Commitment to diversity
Commitment to rural social work
At least two years post MSW practice experience
Evidence of successful college/university teaching experience in social work research
Demonstrated proficiency with e-learning and online course development/delivery
Established research agenda with publication
Evidence of successful college/university advising experience
