Experience in budgeting and accounting. Experience in non-profit or higher education environment. Experience with software applications for reporting, budgeting or accounting.
This position is responsible for the financial management and accounting of the Procurement Services Department. Provides budgetary assistance and advice to the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) and makes corrections and updates to the budget for the CPO. Has primary responsibility for the budget to make any adjustments due to staffing or financial changes including updating salary reallocations to cost centers. Monitors departmental expenditures and oversees any departmental accounting processes including oversight of rebates and fess received, transferring support payments to internal departments, and returning audit recovery payments to affected departments. Additionally, this position oversees departmental information technology (IT) services including access to stored documents and oversight of phone and data lines. This position is the direct contact with the Board of Regents for annual procurement reports and Targeted Small Business (TSB) reporting. Position is also responsible for handling the conflict of interest (COI) approval process and referring matters to the COI Committee when necessary. Additionally this position manages the recruitment, review process and reclassification of staff to Procurement by working with the HR support of ISD and oversees the onboarding process of new hires. This position is also responsible for all aspects of hiring and managing student employees.
The successful candidate will possess the ability to remain current with budgeting knowledge and have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; attention to detail; the ability to manage multiple projects; and knowledge and efficiency with various computer software programs, including Microsoft Office.
