Identify critical questions and analytic needs, through broad stakeholder engagement, as well as respond to questions posed by the Dean and Executive Dean for Administration
Lead cross-functional teams to determine key metrics and assess progress against appropriate strategic outcomes to assess institutional effectiveness, ensuring that key stakeholders are engaged in order to understand the context behind the data
Partner with academic and administrative leaders on programmatic reviews and internal consulting projects
Take primary ownership of projects, determining timelines and deliverables, being task-oriented, adapting to unforeseen challenges, identifying potential collaborations, communicating expectations clearly and respectfully
Be a data story-teller -- analyze and synthesize data (both qualitative and quantitative), prepare dashboards, briefings, memos, presentations, and other communications to or on behalf of senior school administration
Partner with IT and other administrative units to build and maintain institutional data sets as well as set data governance parameters (primarily for internal users, but over time, as appropriate, external users)
Seek out and incorporate relevant external data into analyses to inform school strategy
Develop a good understanding of how the medical school is managed
Train and manage junior members of the team as appropriate
Drive a culture of inclusion and belonging in accordance with the school's community values
Represent the Executive Director for Institutional Planning and Policy when appropriate

Bachelor's degree required. 8 or more years of related experience, preferably in a complex administrative environment.
Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) strongly preferred significant analytical experience in an academic, research or business setting Strong problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated skills in handling, directing and prioritizing multiple and processes in complex environments
Demonstrated experience with empirical and statistical analysis, data management, and data visualization, with a keen sense of design
Fluency with computational tools (e.g., Excel, statistical packages, data visualization) Exhibit strong communication skills in diverse settings (i.e., in small-group and large-group settings, with team members, senior leaders and peers)
Excellent writing skills with the ability to layout reasoned arguments in a logical fashion Discretion when dealing with sensitive information or situations
Ability to balance big-picture review and detail orientation Experience managing change and stakeholder engagement
Experience with coaching and/or personnel management
Understanding of medical schools, biomedical research, and/or Harvard experience preferable
