Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher degree). Two (2) years of experience with social media management, including reporting and producing content, and pitching and managing projects from conception through fulfillment across digital channels. Experience engaging with audiences across social media. Experience monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on social media trends. Thorough understanding of common social media platforms and apps (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube and/or LinkedIn). Experience with Microsoft Suite.

Experience with graphic design software, such as InDesign or Photoshop. Experience with social media scheduling and listening tools, such as Hootsuite, Buffer, or Sprout Social. Understanding of SEO, web, and social media traffic metrics. Experience in higher education. Experience with Google suite.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Social Media Coordinator, in the Office of Marketing and Communications, is responsible for writing and producing digital content for the University's primary social media accounts and website, with a focus on short-form social-first pieces that support the University's content calendar, mission, and brand pillars. The incumbent will be responsible to publish daily, provide supplemental oversight of social platforms, including but not limited to content quality control and social monitoring and support the Social Media Manager with influencer outreach and community engagement across channels. The selected incumbent will have excellent storytelling and research skills.
General: Key responsibilities include day-to-day monitoring of the University's primary social media accounts, with a focus on quality control of social-first content that supports the University's content calendar, mission, and brand pillars.
Writing/Production: Research, write, and deliver integrated, social-friendly content weekly to daily as needed, from conception to completion, for distribution across the University's social channels, including attending and posting from the brand and industry events in real-time as needed.
Social Engagement: Interact and build relationships on social media to help grow audience, influence, and engagement on the University's primary social media accounts.
Internal Networking: Work with social media representatives across campus to generate new, fresh social-first content ideas, as well as find opportunities to build social influence and engagement.
Social Reporting: Generate reports on social media trends, sharing daily to monthly reports across the social media team pertaining to social media industry news, overall brand health, and competitors. Assist in the analysis and reporting of the University's impact on social media.
Managing Projects: Coordinate social management of integrated content campaigns with internal Marketing and Communications team and across campus with departmental partners and/or interns to create content that supports the University's content calendar, mission, and brand pillars. Duties include developing project brief for major social projects and a summary of plans for smaller ones, coordinating teams, managing schedules for deliverables, and responding to University demands, as well as assisting in social strategy development.
Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.
This is a full time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
