The Research Lab Manager for the Addiction Science team will oversee grant-related operational activities, including grant application and manuscript preparation, personnel management, report generation and review, and financial oversight and planning. The primary responsibility of this individual will be to ensure the goals and objectives of various projects are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, team member participation, and other specifications.
Organize and lead or co-lead regular meetings of the study teams to monitor study progress and assist with challenges as they are encountered
Provide organizational leadership and writing assistance for project reports, grant proposals, and research manuscripts
Assist the Addiction Science Director and other Addiction Science faculty in collecting and managing data acquired through grant activities, including coordination with university partners and government agencies
Oversee select Addiction Science staff, including holding individual check-in progress meetings and conducting annual performance evaluations of direct reports
Assist PIs in the development of quarterly and annual data-driven reports required by funding agencies.
Provide supervisory and leadership to team members interfacing with the various Addiction Science projects.
Interface with the UMSL Office of Research Administration and the MIMH pre- and post-award staff to plan and execute grant submissions and compliance matters. Tasks include budget preparations, crafting biosketches and other support pages, etc.
Work with the PI and teams to identify and create new funding opportunities.
Lead and assist with scientific publications.
Master's degree in psychological science, public health, or a related field
At least 3 years of experience managing an externally funded research group
Possess extraordinary organizational skills, communication skills, and leadership abilities
Sufficient skill in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Sufficient content knowledge about substance use and addiction
A PhD in psychological science, public health, or a related field
At least 5 years of experience in health behaviors research
Significant expertise related to substance use and addiction
