JOBSUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under an assigned supervisor, theResearch Assistant studies the importance of calcium signals as mediators inthe development of cardiovascular disease. Maintains cell cultures and performsin vivo (mouse) assays in line with the research strategy and objectives of thelab.
Separates heart muscle cells from rats and mice and prepares tissue sections.
Operates and maintains lab equipment and supplies.
Performs in mouse husbandry and colony maintenance.
Formulates written and/or verbal reports based on research and technical procedures used, including statistical and graphic summaries of findings and possible conclusions.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
