The Asian Affairs Center is seeking experienced educators to join our team. Opportunities include adult ESL teaching or upper level seminar coursework taught in English for visiting scholars. Currently seeking individuals with content knowledge in leadership, American culture & society, American education & schools, English writing & grammar, etc. Duties vary depending on position.
Candidates should be team players with a desire and willingness to embrace our teaching philosophy.
OUR TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
The Asian Affairs Center's educational philosophy on language and cultural acquisition is an integrated, full immersion approach. Program participants are asked to start "living" English and American culture, rather than studying them. Coursework is designed to help students pursue that goal with community involvement, engagement with native speakers and hands on project based learning.
BA degree or above
Native/near native level of English proficiency
Minimum 2 years teaching experience (ESL preferred)
Flexible schedule with daytime (morning) availability
MA degree or higher (or TEFL/TESOL certification)
5+ years teaching experience
Experience with course development and assessment
Experience living/working abroad

Courses taught between 9am - 5pm
No evening or weekend teaching
