Provides research, writing and analytical support in matters of academic policy and procedure to a university executive. Coordinates operations of assigned standing and ad hoc committees.
Prepares and distributes agendas, minutes, reports and support materials for a variety of upper level committees, task forces, and councils; maintains an internal document tracking system; gathers and prepares documents and schedules meetings.
Disseminates policy recommendations and changes campus-wide as needed.
Oversees production, distribution and revisions of assigned academic publications; coordinates with other UH divisions and departments to ensure accuracy of information.
Provides staff support to a variety of upper level committees, which includes receiving, organizing and maintaining nomination support documents, and coordinating nomination notifications.
May administer scholarship programs; distribute award information; receive and maintain nominations; notify recipients and non-recipients.
May manage financial accounts and academic budgets.
Assists a university executive by collecting information and writing reports, and in performing a variety of other administrative duties.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Bachelors and 5 years experience
Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
Experience will not be considered in lieu of education.
The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following:
Ability to manage calendar for numerous administrators, prioritize and multi-task.
Experience coordinating, processing travel arrangements and generating Concur expense reports.
Experience organizing meetings and events.
Experience working with a diverse client base.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
