The ClipperCard manager is responsible for the staff, operations, marketing, and administrative functions of selected auxiliary services, most notably the Clippercard program. This program supports numerous Salem State activities including dining services, off-campus vendors, student, faculty, staff and conference guest privileges and access capabilities. This individual manages the CBORD relationship, affiliated hardware/software, generates related reports, as well as develop and negotiate with business vendors on contract matters and create marketing and promotional strategies to service the university community while raising non-tuition related revenues. Other responsibilities include reconciliation and the administration of multi-million dollar reimbursements and payments to partner merchants using Odyssey PCS, PeopleSoft General Ledger and student financial system.
Duties and Responsibilities:
(E) Direct and manage the delivery of ClipperCard program. Set and communicate program priorities and performance standards. Hire and supervise staff. Continually assess all operations utilizing ClipperCard to develop and recommend program expansion and improvements. Develop and maintain automated or manual systems and procedures to facilitate program operations.
(E) Support growth and improvement in the dining and summer conference operations through access, sophisticated reporting, and data analysis
(E) Responsible for ensuring maintenance and development of the ClipperCard systems (CBORD Odyssey Privilege Control System, MICROS 3700 Cash Register System and GoPrint (pay for print solution), including server software upgrades, and interfaces with all other university computer systems. Responsible for the selection, installation and testing of all ClipperCard hardware and software updates, as well as the ClipperCard programming and distribution channels of reports used by ClipperCard office staff, external SSU departmental managers, and outside contractors
(E) Develops and applies internal control policies and practices, which includes monitoring the operating environment, generating and analyzing audit reports, recommending and/or executing corrective measures when needed
(E) Serves as university liaison with One Card vendors to resolve hardware/software problems or issues effecting operation of the ClipperCard program
(E) Conducts a monthly reconciliation of the PeopleSoft Student Financial system, Odyssey PCS System and General Ledger
(E) Oversees accounting, auditing and billing for office, as well as contractual payments to contractors
(E) Responsible for developing and maintaining an operational budget
(E) Represents ClipperCard program with other departments such as Information Technology Services, general accounting, and student accounts to ensure proper planning and handling of ClipperCard-related transactions and entities
(E) Accountable for all ClipperCard related general ledger accounts including both Meal Plan and ClipperCash accounts receivable and payable
(E) Oversees all marketing for ClipperCard program
(E) Establishes customer service standards and provides same to students, parents, faculty and staff
Participates in CBORD User Group programs (regional and annual conference) to maintain knowledge of CBORD upgrades and future plans, which may require overnight travel. Also utilizing list serves and annual attending the annual NACCU Conference, which may require overnight travel
Demonstrates sensitivity to students, faculty and staff of varying racial, ethnic, religious, gender, cultural, disability, sexual orientation and socioeconomic backgrounds
Demonstrates sensitivity to students with a diversity of learning styles
Serves as a role model and mentor for students as appropriate
Serves on various committees as assigned
Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline, preferably with a concentration in business
Minimum of five years of experience in student or financial services, accounting in higher education or other non-profit entity
Two years of managerial and supervisory experience
Knowledge of and demonstrable experience with planning and administration of integrated enterprise information systems components, including hardware, software and network, especially comprehensive student administration and financial computer systems found in a higher ed/non-profit setting
Experience analyzing financial and other data in order to make recommendations
Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and ability to relate to diverse constituents while communicating rules, procedures, and policy with tact
Strong attention to detail and demonstrated time management, customer service, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Proficiency using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)
Experience using CBord and PeopleSoft Financial and student administration systems
Familiarity with web application and relational database design and support
Experience with information technology systems in an educational context
