The Department of Surgery, Division of General and Minimally Invasive Surgery, at East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine seeks applicants to fill the position of a General and Minimally Invasive Surgeon in our active, collaborative academic division.
Candidate will provide instruction to medical students and appropriate training and supervision to general surgery residents.
Fixed-term or tenure track position at the title/rank of Assistant Professor/Clinical Assistant Professor or higher available.

Full unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina and board certified or board eligible in general surgery.
Proven interest and ability to teach residents and medical students.
Advanced training in advanced laparoscopy and advanced endoscopy including experience with ERCP.

Organizational Unit Overview:
The Department of Surgery is a clinical department within the School of Medicine with the attendant responsibility for medical education and research. The Chair of the department is also the Chief of Surgical services for the hospital. The department includes 36 full-time faculty members in the sections of: transplant surgery, plastic surgery, pediatric surgery, surgical oncology, general and bariatric surgery, and trauma and acute care surgery. It also includes clinical and basic science research labs. The 70+ employees in the department support our clinical, education and research programs. The Department of Surgery at East Carolina University is dedicated to providing state of the art care to patients in eastern North Carolina. The ECU Brody School of Medicine is affiliated with Vidant Medical Center (VMC).
