This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Office Specialist 2 position for the College of Pharmacy at Oregon State University (OSU).
This position will be located in Portland, Oregon.
The Oregon State University College of Pharmacy is a University mission-critical unit responsible for assuring the integrity of academic procedures, data and records.
Located in Portland on the OHSU campus, this position serves as administrative support to faculty in the Department of Pharmacy Practice which includes the Advanced Experiential Program and Academic & Student Services; the position also supports Portland based faculty, graduate students and research assistants in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. This position assists in assuring that the integrity of academic procedures, data, and records are consistent with that of the Corvallis campus, utilizing complex technologies such as Canvas, TRES and E*Value student data programs. The position performs faculty and student services support involving course management and dissemination of course-related materials and communications.
Due to deadlines of the university and this office, this position works under varying demands of heavy volume and fluctuating workloads during specific times of the term and year. The incumbent will work with a variety of internal and external customers with varying approaches to situations, and is expected to handle each situation fairly, professionally, and in a courteous and pleasant manner. This position may participate in all office discussions, office workshops and retreats, and in campus staff development activities.
Two years of general clerical experience. One year of which included typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR An Associate’s degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology; OR Graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology and one year of general clerical experience. College courses in Office Occupations or Office Technology will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Must complete an OHSU background check and be cleared for building access by OHSU prior to hire date.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
This position works in a typical office environment with a busy atmosphere and constant interruptions (due to foot traffic, etc.), and requires long periods of sitting at a workstation.
The typical required work schedule is 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Work day start/end times may be flexible (earlier or later), at the discretion of the supervisor.
The ability to occasionally lift boxes up to 50 pounds is required.
May require walking from one part of the building to another using elevators or stairs; may require travel from the south waterfront to the main OHSU campus via walking and taking the tram.
The position requires trips to labs to deliver packages, mail, and provide technical assistance.
