The S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University invites applicants to apply for a two-year Assistant Teaching Professor position in the Visual Communications (VIS) department to begin August 17, 2020. Employment beyond the initial two-year appointment is possible.
The successful candidate will primarily teach various forms of video storytelling and production for students studying video, photography, and graphic design. Courses may range from: the Newhouse first-year foundational Multimedia Storytelling course, which is required of all undergraduate students across all departments; intermediate and advanced courses; the department's undergraduate capstone and graduate thesis courses; basic and advanced courses for our military students; as well as other topics that reflect evolving production practices in the industry. The successful candidate will also advise students and perform service duties for the school, university, and/or community.
