Required Minimum Quals:
Bachelor's degree and 1 year of related experience; OR a combination of education and related experience totaling 5 years.
Degree in Journalism, Communication, Marketing, Design or related field. 4-H youth development experience. Social media/digital communications experience. Branding and marketing experience. Design skills and familiarity with design tools.
The 4-H Youth Development Program at Iowa State University Extension and Outreach (ISUEO) is seeking qualified candidates for an Extension Specialist I or II - Public Relations and Brand Development Specialist.
This position works closely with the Iowa 4-H and Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach Advancement to develop strategic communication and marketing campaigns that enhance the visibility and reputation of 4-H Positive Youth Development programs. This position is responsible for developing strategic communication and marketing resources for Iowa 4-H events and annual 4-H campaigns such as National 4-H Week, Raise Your Hand and 4-H Days. This position will also interpret information and ideas, communicate clearly, and serve as communication liaison between Iowa 4-H, Iowa 4-H Foundation, and ISU Extension and Outreach Advancement, as well as working closely with National 4-H Council on strategic branding campaigns. This position will manage marketing and branding of products and resources to ensure compliance and fidelity with use of ISU, ISU Extension and Outreach, and 4-H branding and trademark policies.
In addition, the Extension Specialist I or II will work with 4-H Professionals across the state to develop materials for news media to increase visibility and outreach for 4-H programs They will identify photo and video ideas and opportunities for media stories for dissemination to wire services, newspapers, magazines, television outlets, web and social media. The position will also work closely with product team to develop high quality marketing and production pieces.
In addition to the required education and experience listed above, the Extension Program Specialist II requires a Bachelorâs degree and 2 years of related experience; OR a Masterâs degree and related experience and is a P32.
This is a fixed term position with possibility of renewal. All accrued vacation must be used during term of appointment or will be forfeited.
