Under the direction of the Senior Financial Analyst and Payroll Manager, the Junior Analyst will assist in the design and implementation of complex financial reporting tools, and management reports using best practice applications, tools and processes for a large academic department. S/he will assist with all duties related to payroll functions and act as a liaison with both central University and departmental offices.
Support the design and implementation of complex financial reporting to support decision making for divisions, middle and senior management with emphasis on advanced use of excel. Prepare various reports on weekly, monthly, quarterly or adhoc basis.
Support the monthly and quarterly current estimate variance analyses.
Coordinate budget and salary roster submissions with the divisions.
Prepare intra-department cost allocations and ensure accurate implementation of approved distributions.
Assist with timely processing of all requests submitted in our payroll ticket tracking system.
Support the divisions with their salary distribution and cost transfer form submissions.
Assist with monthly processing of additional compensation for clinical profit and loss, moonlighting, and other coverage. Ensure all payments have required approval and documentation.
Manage timesheets for support staff including collecting, checking for accuracy, and updating the log accordingly.
Responsible for the maintenance of the electronic file system. Includes scanning and cataloging all payroll documents weekly.

Bachelor degree or equivalent in education and experience plus two years of related experience
Advanced MS Excel skills
Experience with PAC and CU Payroll/HR Policies and procedures
Must successfully complete systems training requirements
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills required
Must be detailed oriented, analytical and approach work sensitively and efficiently within the policies, procedures and regulatory requirements of the University
Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, is required
