The College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) at the University of Missouri - St. Louis (UMSL) seeks applicants for a tenure-track position to support a new University-led initiative to leverage existing expertise and resources in health and data science. We seek to hire a social/behavioral scientist with a Ph.D. in Economics, Sociology, Psychology, or related discipline and research experience in big data, machine learning, phenotype/predictive modeling, precision medicine, etc. We seek an individual who can bring both theoretical and analytical expertise to the University's health-related initiatives.
The individual will hold an academic appointment in the Department appropriate to their research and teaching interests, and will teach undergraduate and graduate courses related to their area of expertise. Successful candidates are expected to have high potential to secure external funding as well as support ongoing initiatives at UMSL related to data science. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated ability to generate external funding. The normal teaching load, assuming an active research agenda, is two courses per semester. Salary is competitive.
