Post-Doctoral Researcher position (salary $5,000/month, anticipated starting date 12/15/2019):
Post-Doctoral Research Associate will be responsible for performing computational modeling using reaction - diffusion cluster dynamics modeling to assess the evolution of fission gas (xenon) in uranium dioxide and uranium carbide nuclear fuel, as well as to evaluate the defect clustering behavior of radiation induced defects in neutron irradiated structural materials. The computational research will involve the use of the Xolotl cluster dynamics code, and require familiarity with defect and impurity diffusion and reaction dynamics as obtained from atomistic modeling. The post-doctoral researcher will be expected to publish original research in refereed journal articles and work with a team of scientists from multiple institutions. The successful candidate will also be expected to work with both undergraduate and graduate students, as well as PhD level scientists.
