The Assistant Registrar works under the supervision of the Senior Registrar to act as Collections Liaison for galleries and exhibitions (maintenance of object list, coordination of object access and movement); to carry out object processing (digital record creation, physical numbering, measuring, photography); to do condition reporting; to make courier arrangements for outgoing loans; and to provide collections-related support as necessary to collections staff.Â

Minimum: BA/BS required, with MA/MS preferred in a field related to the Museumâ™s holdings and/or an MA in Museums Studies (Registration/Collections Management); 1-2 yearsâ™ registrar experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and museum work experience; experience managing collections including recording, loans and acquisitions processes; knowledge of archaeological and ethnographic materials required; computer literacy required; experience with collections management databases required, with EMu experience preferred; strong organizational skills and attention to detail required; ability to multi-task required; art-handling experience required; manual dexterity required; ability to lift up to 25 lbs required, 50 lbs preferred; valid driverâ™s license required.
