Job Description Summary
The Global Initiatives Fellow assumes a critical role on the Penn Global team. Penn Global provides strategic direction for Penn's global endeavors with a focus on efficient investment of university resources for global activities. Reporting to the Associate Director of Global Initiatives, the Fellow will be responsible for coordinating a number of projects in the global initiatives portfolio. Duties include, but are not limited to, supporting overall grant efforts; initiating and developing reports, briefings, and agendas; providing event support; coordinating communication and outreach efforts; and supporting visits by foreign delegations and partners. The Fellow will also support the Global Initiatives staff and work closely with offices across campus to facilitate ongoing initiatives, as needed.
A Bachelor's Degree with 1 to 2 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, is required. Interest in international relations, international education, and global programming as demonstrated through course of study and/or work experience is highly encouraged. Demonstrated interest and experience in China or other key regions welcomed. Command of Mandarin a plus. Experience with Survey Monkey Apply, or similar application management platforms, strongly preferred. Experience working with senior administrators, staff, and faculty in higher education, or in an equivalent setting, is also strongly preferred. Advanced knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite preferred. Experience in a fast-paced office managing multiple priorities and deadlines; demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively; excellent customer service skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong organizational skills; basic website development skills; and knowledge of Penn preferred.
Position is a two-year appointment with ability to extend two years based on performance and funding.
