The University of Minnesota's central Office of Information Technology (OIT) seeks an experienced technologist with leadership skills to serve as the Product Owner for our Identity and Access Management team. The Product Owner is responsible for overseeing OIT’s strategy, functionality, and production operations related to our identity platforms. This position requires excellent communication skills, motivation, self-direction, commitment, integrity, ability to multi-task, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and knowledge of system integration tools and techniques.

Anticipate and prioritize needs: Works with customers, service owner and business partners to establish short term and long term priorities in alignment with the vision and roadmap.
Oversee the software development lifecycle: Refines and prioritizes the team’s backlog. Establishes functional requirements, acceptance criteria and release schedules. Evaluates progress toward goals each iteration.
Act as primary liaison: Serve as the main point of contact and communication channel between the IDM team and their stakeholders.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 4 years of relevant experience; 6 years of experience with a non-related degree.
Exceptional communication; ability to tailor messages to the audience (whether technical or non-technical, individual contributor to executive).
Excellent leadership skills; ability to influence and motivate others.
Professional experience balancing stakeholder needs across multiple lines of business in a complex environment.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a diverse environment.
Experience with identity management or information security practices in an enterprise setting.
Familiarity with the software development life cycle in an enterprise setting.
