The Department of Biomaterials from New York University College of Dentistry (NYU Dentistry) invites applications for a full time Assistant/Associate Research Scientist position beginning November 2019 or on a mutually agreeable date thereafter.
The successful candidate will work on an NIH sponsored research project to understand the important residual stress problem in porcelain-veneered prostheses. Responsibilities would also include fabrication and characterization of porcelain-veneered ceramic and metal crowns, including a variety of mechanical testing, and writing research manuscripts and preparing scientific presentations, as well as helping in supervising junior researchers and students.
Applicants should hold a DDS or Ph.D. in dental materials science. Candidates with direct researchexperiences in areas related to mechanical testing and- Prosthodontics procedures, including the fabrication of ceramic restorations using the lost wax method and the CAD/CAM technology are strongly encouraged to apply. Ideal candidates should have a good record of accomplishments in research and national/international scientific presentations, and be fluent in English.
Salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience. The initial contract will be for one year but can be extended at the PI's discretion.
