Under the direction of the Director of the Office of Counseling, Disability, Alcohol and Other Drug Services, the Managing Assistant Director manages the Office of Disability Services and is responsible for the coordination and implementation of services to students registered with the Office of Disability Services; and does related work as required. This position requires a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours as needed.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and a minimum of three years of professional experience working with individuals with disabilities, including psychological, chronic health, learning, ADHD and/or autism spectrum disorders required. Preferred educational requirements include a Master’s degree from an accredited college in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Education, Special Education, Rehabilitative Counseling or a related field. Candidate must have knowledge of federal and state laws regarding disability access and compliance, including the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504, as they pertain to a post-secondary environment; familiarity with developmental issues of college students; and a demonstrated commitment, sensitivity and skill in working with a diverse student, staff and faculty population. Experience working with adult students in a college or university setting and interest in providing education and training to faculty, staff and students on issues related to students with disabilities is preferred.
